What is a domain name?
A domain name is the unique name that identifies an Internet site. www.pelotoninternet.com is a domain name. Internet users access your website using your domain name.
What is a URL?
URL is an acronym for “Uniform Resource Locator”. This provides a way of uniquely specifying the address of any document on the Internet. Most World Wide Web (www) URLs begin with http://
What is hosting?
Hosting is a service that refers to the housing of a website, e-mail or a domain on a specific “Server” (a computer which is permanently connected to the Internet). This means that your site can be accessed anywhere around the world at any time.
Why do I pay for hosting?
It is important for modern day business to have a web presence, although it can be harming to your business if your website doesn’t work properly or doesn’t display at all. Our servers are managed and looked after 24 hours a day and 7 days per week. Any problems are dealt with immediately, giving your website the maximum up time possible.
Hosting is not the only service you pay for. You also receive comprehensive support from the Peloton Internet team Monday to Friday 9 A.M - 6 P.M and the peace of mind knowing your website will always be available to your prospective and current clients.
How much will a design cost?
For a fully functional, professionally designed website, we offer two standard packages, starting from just £145. You will also receive three months of free hosting, thereafter hosting will be charged at £9.00 per month. For full price listings please visit the Services page.
How long does it take for a design to be completed?
The time scale of a project is usually down to the client. Once all content (text & images) has been provided to us, we endeavour to complete a project as soon as possible. This would normally be less than five working days.
How many email addresses do I need?
There is no right answer to this question. It all depends on your business. You may require an email address for each employee, or split your email address into categories i.e Sales, info, support@yourcompany.co.uk.
I don’t have any images to provide you, where can I get some?
Not all clients have the perfect images to go on their websites. If this is the case then please don’t despair, we refer our clients to iStock Photo, a royalty free, image stock website that charges as little as $1 per image. How many revisions do I get?
Website content revision is up to you - you can update your site through our Content Management System as often as you like. Design revisions (which you can’t make) are dealt in hours. Each customer is entitled to 3 hours of revision time or until we are satisfied with the site. If at the end your revision time you are still not happy with your website, additional work can be carried out for £25 per hour.
Will I be able to monitor how many people visit my site?
It is possible for you to monitor how many people visit your website. However this service will incur a one off payment of £25, which will be added to the initial design fee.
Will Peloton Internet register my website with search engines?
Some basic settings in our web packages mean that all content is automatically ‘pinged’ to search engines like Google. Further promotion of websites will be the responsibility of the client, or we can undertake some Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) for you, which would typically cost between £50 and £200, depending on the complexity of your business.
What is Search Engine Optimisation?
Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of getting your website listed as high as possible with the most popular search engines i.e. Google, Yahoo, Altavista, Lycos and Ask Geeves. The higher your website is listed the more chance you have of people visiting your website.
Will I receive Search Engine Optimisation?
Not by default. Peloton Internet takes no responsibility for the promotion of our client’s websites. Promotion of websites will be the responsibility of the client.
What after sales support to you offer?
Once your website is up and running, Peloton Internet won’t just leave you to your own devices like many other design companies. We will look after and maintain your website for as long as you are a valued customer. Your website will be hosted on our reliable servers, keeping your website uptime as high as possible. You can be confident that your site is in good hands; our own website is hosted on the same servers as our clients.
