The main objective is to use local search engine optimization to achieve higher search rankings within the local results. These usually appear first or very high on page one of the search results along with a businesses location, services, map and a link to their website. The trend is for people to search for place close by to where they are. For example a customer would type in the service they are looking for and the city they are in. The returning search results would be the local search results. This is becoming increasingly important since most people have search capabilities on their phones and are GPS based.
